Great talk with Bettina Arndt :
Apparently without net neutrality women and girls suffer more than boys. This article also comes with a lofty dose of wage gap and DV myths :
“But when you think about feminist issues, what comes to mind? Topics like reproductive rights, domestic violence or equal pay are often the first things mentioned. But it\’s increasingly clear that Net Neutrality belongs on that list.”
- Reproductive rights : Men have none.
- Domestic Violence : Men have nowhere to go when they are victims + Duluth criminalizes them as perpetrators.
- Equal Pay : Women have equal pay and more workplace rights than men.
Apparently a professional and rigorous defence against liars is “rape culture” :
“Jasmine Cormier, a student at St. F.X. in Antigonish, has written an article in that university’s weekly newspaper, saying Henein’s selection serves to silence victims and perpetuate rape culture.”
“A petition. A counter-petition. Apologies. Accusations. Canada’s most beloved authors have found themselves embroiled in an ugly controversy”
Apparently 40% of the Belgian population is a potential rapist :
“Er rijzen vragen over het onderzoek van de Europese Commissie over het hebben van seks zonder toestemming. Uit het onderzoek zou blijken dat vier op de tien Belgen vindt dat zo’n seks in sommige gevallen gerechtvaardigd kan zijn. Die bevinding wordt betwist.”
“Feminists cannot insist that society listen to the problems women face and take them seriously if they are then going to go out of their way to sneer at a day that is discussing how to combat male suicide. It is contradictory, and just downright unfair on those who have lost someone to suicide”
“Canada’s new Bill C-16 has free speech advocates worried. At issue is the introduction of social construct definitions of gender identity and gender expression into our country’s Human Rights code. The bill makes it illegal to target those who identify or express themselves differently from their biological gender. Specifically, it protects against genocide and the public or willful incitements of hatred.”
